20 May 2019, the publication of an article "ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPATIAL INFORMATION KNOWLEDGE CAPACITIES FOR DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT IN CENTRAL ASIA" in the proceedings of the international conference "Actual problems of international relations, the Humanities and the natural Sciences in Central Asia".

20 May 2019, the publication of an article "ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPATIAL INFORMATION KNOWLEDGE CAPACITIES FOR DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT IN CENTRAL ASIA" in the proceedings of the international conference "Actual problems of international relations, the Humanities and the natural Sciences in Central Asia".

EUREF (Sub-commission of International Association of Geodesy) held its annual symposium in Tallinn – Estonia, in the period from May 22 to May 24, 2019. As usual, representatives of national mapping agencies, universities and enterprises of the majority of European countries attended the event.
The latest achievements in the area of geodetic reference systems were discussed on this forum and the necessary resolutions were accepted.
The Symposium consisted of several sessions, which included topics from the area of: horizontal and vertical reference systems (ETRS89 & EVRS), the European permanent and levelling network (EPN & UELN) and their concentration, as well as topics in relation with the measurement techniques and possibility for using the European GNSS Galileo system.
Prof. Eimuntas Parseliunas attended the symposium and presented the paper “Promoting of the Geospatial Methods: Introduction Into International Educational Courses in Environmental Protection and Disaster Risk Management” (see EUREF2019_EPCA.pdf) about the ERASMUS+ project „Environmental Protection in Central Asia: Disaster Risk Management using Spatial Methods (EPCA)” (see EUREF2019_Abstracts.pdf; EUREF2019_Programme.pdf).

Partner universities in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have accredited the three developed courses, in EPCA project. The course materials are being used and taught in Urgench State University (UrSU), Karakalpak State University (KSU), I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University (I.AKSU), and Osh State University (OshSU).

Dr. Ali Mansourian, the coordinator of the EPCA project, visited Urgench, Uzbekistan, on September 17-20. The aim of the visit was to discuss the progress of the project and also to disseminate the project aims to potential stakeholders.

Kyrgyz State University (KSU), Ministry of Emergency Situations, National Erasmus Coordination Office, and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as experts from Ministry of Health were visited. The aims and advantages of the project as well as applications of SIST for Environmental Protection and Disaster Risk Management were presented and discussed. In a field trip, environmental situations and issues were observed and discussed with the experts.
