Tasks

– Generate a layout for professional information.
– Present Work Packages (WP) and responsibilities.
– Present the overall needs and regional priorities and detailed planning for requirement analysis for the development of courses.
– Discuss the overall data and functionality needed for the development of iMSEP.
– Present the overall e-learning situation at the partner universities.
– Present the available alumni capacity in the region and EU.
– Organizing the Steering Committee and selecting of the members.
– Organizing the Quality Control group and selecting of the members.
– Formulate a MoU/MoA.

Description

Social activities are crucial to make partners to know each other (cultural, personal, academic aspects, etc.) and also to bring them closer to be able to communicate and  work easier in groups. It is also a fact that understanding the overall management and  responsibilities, the cooperation procedure, and getting to know each other, will facilitate  a successful realization of the project. Social gatherings to foster personal relations  between staff will thus be organized.
The aim of the first gathering is to meet most of the key contact persons that will be  actively involved in the project to discuss details concerning preparation, tasks and  responsibilities, and execution. They are expected to express their opinions and generate  a consolidated work plan and status report. Associate partners will also be  invited to k/o meeting.

During the meeting the following tasks will be discussed:
– Reviewing the general aims and objectives of the project, the budget, the responsibilities, the management structure, the schedule, etc.
– Participant universities present overall information about their university including capacity on spatial information science and technologies (SIST), environmental protection, and disaster risk management as well as experiences and achievements.
– Partner universities present overall university information including capacity of staff, language abilities, available laboratories, software and equipment, experience on regional and international cooperation.
– Steering Committee members will be selected.
– Quality Control group members will be selected.
– Detailed planning for the implementation of the project including course development, setting up e-learning systems, system (iMSEP) development, training of trainers, workshops, etc.

Related assumptions and risks

– Project partners and participants need to attend the kick-off meeting to start and detail plan the project.
– Associate partners are welcome to attend the meeting either physically or online e.g. through Skype.
– Associate partners will not be paid for attending meetings.
– Kick-off meeting take place in Lund University as project coordinator.
– Overall responsibilities among participate and partner countries will be discussed and agreed in the kick-off meeting.
– No major risk for kick of meeting is available except followings:
– Political instability in partner and participant countries.
